It takes this little to put a smile on my face.
Showing up in my garden every spring since more than twenty years.

And I did a little yarn bombing to cover up a rusty iron bar.

Done! I increased it from 100x105 cm to 125x130 cm. Now the fun of snuggling is even bigger and so welcome with these cool temperatures.

A little less than a year ago I thought that this blanket was finished. But recently I changed my mind. I bought more yarn, unraveled the last round and started to add round after round. I like it so much that it needs to be bigger to properly snuggle up in it.

Meanwhile I finished the yarn in stock which means my giant granny blanket is done. It measures about 100 x 105 cm and is just perfect for keeping my legs warm when sitting and reading or sewing on the sofa. Is it old-fashioned? I don't know and don't care. I completely enjoyed making it and I love it!
And I still marvel at the miracle of turning a string into a cloth.

Das Garn, das ich vorrätig hatte ist fertig und so ist auch meine Häkeldecke fertig! Sie misst ca. 100 x 105 cm und ist gerade gross genug, meine Beine beim Lesen oder Nähen auf dem Sofa schön warm zu halten. So richtig kuschelig. Ist sie altmodisch? Ich weiss nicht und es kümmert mich nicht. Ich habe es total genossen, sie zu häkeln und ich liebe sie!
Und noch immer erstaunt mich das Wunder, einen Faden in ein Tuch zu verwandeln.

Ho finito la lana a disposizione e ciò significa che ho finito la mia coperta all'uncinetto. Misura ca. 100 x 105 cm ed è perfetta per tenermi calde le gambe quando leggo o cucio sul divano. Mi sono divertita fino in fondo a lavorarla e l'adoro!
Il miracolo di trasformare un filo in un tessuto ancora mi stupisce.

Giant Granny Blanket

As in between project I've started to crochet a blanket consisting of a single granny. I'm just using yarn from my stash.

Für Zwischendurch und damit ich wieder etwas habe, woran ich von Hand arbeiten kann, habe ich begonnen, eine Decke zu häkeln. Ich verwende einfach Garn aus meinem Vorrat. Mal sehen, wie weit ich damit komme.

Come nuovo lavoro a mano ho iniziato una coperta all'uncinetto. Uso lana che ho disponibile in casa e vedremo fin dove basterà.

Crochet Scarf - Schal - Sciarpa

It's been a while that after the möbius I also finished crocheting the scarf. Here is the finished product.

Crochet Möbius

I finished crocheting my möbius. Doesn't it look lovely? OK, the colors are not really like spring but you know what? Elsewhere on the planet it's autumn.

Mein Möbius ist fertig gehäkelt. Sieht er nicht gut aus? OK, es sind nicht gerade Frühlingsfarben aber wisst ihr was? Anderswo auf dem Planeten ist es Herbst.

Ho finito il mio möbius. Carino vero? OK, i colori non sono proprio primaverili ma sapete una cosa? Altrove sul pianeta è autunno.

Those knowing me are not surprised to read that I must have something to do for my hands. Something that I can carry around with me. And since my current quilt work requires the sewing machine I had to come up with something different. And so since a few weeks I'm working on two crochet projects, a scarf and a möbius I came across in the book below. I'm following the basic patterns as described but I'm making alterations and I'm using yarn I had in my stash. Pictures will follow.

Wer mich kennt weiss, dass ich immer eine Handarbeit brauche. Etwas, das ich mit mir herumtragen kann. Und da die derzeitige Arbeit an meinen Quilts die Nähmaschine erfordert, musste ich etwas anderes aussuchen. Seit einigen Wochen bin ich nun an zwei Häkelarbeiten, die ich im unteren Buch gefunden habe. Ich häkle einen Schal und einen Möbius. Ich befolge die Grundanleitung, die ich aber abändere und verwende Garn, das ich vorrätig hatte. Bilder folgen.

Chi mi conosce sa che ho sempre voglia di tenere le mani occupate. Cioè mi occorre un lavoro che posso portare in giro. Siccome l'attuale lavoro ai miei quilt richiede la macchina da cucire ho dovuto pensare a qualcosa d'altro. E così da qualche settimana sto lavorando su due progetti all'uncinetto che ho trovato nel libro qui sotto. Sto facendo una sciarpa e un möbius. Seguo le istruzioni di base che però cambio a piacere e uso lana che avevo in casa. Le foto seguiranno.

After pondering the question for a while I've decided to add fringes to my wrap. 

Nach langem überlegen, habe ich mich nun für Fransen an meiner Häkel-Stola entschieden. 

Dopo averci pensato su per un bel po', ho deciso di aggiungere una frangiatura alla mia stola.

I finished crocheting my wrap. I made up the long side edging myself. I wish I would have done it a little wider. It's more a scarf than a wrap. I'm thinking of adding fringes to the two short sides. What do you think?

Meine Häkel-Stola ist fertig gehäkelt. Die Randbearbeitung habe ich ohne Anleitung gemacht. Ich hätte es wohl etwas breiter machen sollen. Es ist mehr ein Schal als eine Stola geworden. Ich überlege mir, an den beiden Schmalseiten noch Fransen anzubringen. Was meint ihr?

Ho finito il mio lavoro all'uncinetto. Il bordo dei lati lunghi me lo sono inventato io. Avrei dovuto fare il tutto più largo. Ora é diventato più una sciarpa che una stola. Sto pensando di aggiungere una frangiatura ai lati corti. Voi cosa ne pensate?
