Christmas Tree Quilt // 4

Meanwhile lots of progress with the quilting on my Christmas Tree. Here is another progress shot. It's been very laborious, not least because of all the threads to bury, but I also enjoyed the time feeling sure about what I'm doing.

The tree is fully quilted and I'm happy with how it turned out. I like what I did with the empty squares within the tree. Not so sure about the top row of the trunk but I'll leave it for now and review later. Days are getting shorter quickly and it's getting more and more difficult to take pictures in good light but I think you'll get the idea.

I have also decided on how to quilt the area around it and am busy working at it. Here is a progress shot of this part of the work.

I can't wait to see if in the end it will render the visual effect I'm hoping for. Fingers crossed!

Dublin // 3 and last

We couldn't miss a visit to Trinity College to see the Book of Kells (no pictures allowed) and the impressive old library.

Nor could we skip a visit to Guinness Storehouse where the history of this delicious beer is celebrated in a bombastic way and at times we felt like being in a sanctuary.

And so we thought that after this almost religious experience it was time for a real house of worship.
Which brought us to the magnificent St Patrick's Cathedral.

Thank you Dublin for a lot of diverse experiences!
