Diamond // 11
All the blocks are sewn! I had a hard time deciding on the color for the edges but now I'm just happy with it. No decisions for a while now and I can just relax and handstitch them all together.

Diamond // 9
Meanwhile I have resumed working on my Diamond quilt. I have started to join the sewn blocks and to sew the remaining blocks to complete the edges. After weeks of thinking back and forth I have now settled on a light "border".

Todtnauer Wasserfall
During our days in the Black Forest we hiked the Todtnauer Waterfalls. We have been there before in summer of 2013 and you can see pictures here. It's been so nice to see the same place in a winter setting.
And for comparison two pics from August 2013.

Todtnauberg
We spent last week in Todtnauberg in the Black Forest. We substituted the current rainy days we are experiencing in Basel with a white winter wonderland. I couldn't get enough of looking at how the snow changes scenery, shapes, and colors and of listening to the quiet sound! I just love winter when it looks and sounds like this!
Sorry for the overflow of pictures but I just couldn't contain myself more. I tried hard. Hope you enjoy!

Creux du Van
Another great day trip took us for the second time to the Creux du Van. You can read about the first trip here and here. The first trip was marked by fog and limited views resulting in a very odd and particular atmosphere. This time the weather was simply perfect and we enjoyed the scenery from a totally different point of view. We even got to see a panorama of the alps and ibexes climbing in the rocks. Perfection!

Titlis
Hope you all had a good start into the new year. I did. Over the last two weeks I spent quite some days enjoying the great outdoors Switzerland and Germany have to offer. Thought of sharing some pictures before getting back to quilting matters.
First we went on a day trip to Mount Titlis at 3,238 meters above sea level. We drove by car to Engelberg from where we proceeded by cable cars including the world's first revolving cable car according to Wikipedia. You can follow the link if you want to learn more about it. I'm just sharing a few favorite pics.
