I'm just not taking the time for posting here any more. I may return or even start a new blog one day but for now I'm trying to keep up with my <a href="https://www.pasqualinabarazza.ch/" target="_blank">website</a> and posting progress on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ergo_ago_pasqualina/">Instagram</a>.</p><p><br /></p><p>This however is the last quilt I made in 2021. </p><p><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: medium; text-align: center;">Ma forêt de Saint-Maurice </span></p><p><span style="font-family: inherit; text-align: center;">Saint-Maurice was the Swiss village where I attended a workshop and made this mini quilt.<br />The workshop was organised by Patchwork du Léman and <a href="https://www.instagram.com/clin_doeil_chez_mariane1618/">Marianne Bender-Chevalley</a> was the teacher.</span></p><p><br /></p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwp9_163UlqHlL7LnvYA7na0svWqFm3KyQYDerJ55m_tW7o7queRxopP9H2pbqSuKHgq0A7CblbLVxLKkk5vG2jTFugGInLs5wol2NCRqzZtCpdNmvUFxHJpXbbd_LOC4y3GxktrAX9BPXhuknWgmA5kutvJiSOsRvBKN2jNtqQcHNXSIVvwLhj8Xe2_mp/s5664/55%2020211208_113637%20Ma%20fore%CC%82t%20de%20Saint-Maurice,%2028%20x%2040cm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4248" data-original-width="5664" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwp9_163UlqHlL7LnvYA7na0svWqFm3KyQYDerJ55m_tW7o7queRxopP9H2pbqSuKHgq0A7CblbLVxLKkk5vG2jTFugGInLs5wol2NCRqzZtCpdNmvUFxHJpXbbd_LOC4y3GxktrAX9BPXhuknWgmA5kutvJiSOsRvBKN2jNtqQcHNXSIVvwLhj8Xe2_mp/w400-h300/55%2020211208_113637%20Ma%20fore%CC%82t%20de%20Saint-Maurice,%2028%20x%2040cm.jpg" width="400" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: verdana; font-size: small;">28 x 40 cm</span></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><p><br /></p><p>I will keep posting pictures of finished quilts on the page <a href="https://pasqualinathisandthat.blogspot.com/p/quilts-from-2022-onwards.html">Quilts from 2022 onwards</a> but without further details. </p><p>If you want to stay connected or keep looking for inspiration please follow me on my Instagram page <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ergo_ago_pasqualina/">@ergo_ago_pasqualina</a> where I go deeper and discuss my work.</p><p>See you!</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Pasqualina this & thathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07345456841233557955noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4734213052457691083.post-46514711091532092802021-12-19T14:10:00.000+01:002021-12-19T14:10:29.420+01:00Breakout // a finished quilt and its journey<p>And here is the completed quilt. I named it Breakout. Not to be confused with outbreak. I am rather pleased by how abandoning the first idea led to this totally unplanned and unforeseen result. You'll have to read through the last two posts to understand where this is coming from.</p><p>Breakout, 163 x 113 cm<br />epp and machine piecing, machine quilted, my original design made up as I went.</p><p>To me the term breakout has both, a positive and a negative connotation and leaves room for interpretation. I myself remain undecided about what is going on in this quilt. But I tend to think positively. Especially after introducing the five appliquéd squares. I like to think of them as the odd ones that don't follow the rules. They have freed themselves from constraints and expectations and are floating towards adventures only the brave can experience.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgVI_LRQsES3-mZc5bAxrNzJaAXpVS0WGph_zt8Yqs5XY6smM8S8Tmm1TcceDezLrcR7rCmUBbdrlIBsD4EoEauevMUM9Cs-8k5mqqda8FfHdN-g7f0iQhJAvk7ch7U3acmEybxvhxtyY9wSqauv4l3YN2nLMfczLuR_GVVkI0IiYr-as7eQZruEX8Alg=s2780" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2780" data-original-width="1992" height="720" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgVI_LRQsES3-mZc5bAxrNzJaAXpVS0WGph_zt8Yqs5XY6smM8S8Tmm1TcceDezLrcR7rCmUBbdrlIBsD4EoEauevMUM9Cs-8k5mqqda8FfHdN-g7f0iQhJAvk7ch7U3acmEybxvhxtyY9wSqauv4l3YN2nLMfczLuR_GVVkI0IiYr-as7eQZruEX8Alg=w515-h720" width="515" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><div>The quilting of the straight lines forming a sort of tangled net is in the background suggesting the pieces are floating above the net, having somehow managed to free themselves. The echo quilting in the zig-zag fabric enhances the dynamic forces going on.</div><div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjcrU3VQj2fpeitvWCJ031HepAhDRPWHrEhn7HQAc1WWLE0ycFZPU6D8cKSXQwq-12OMgb4hH0PNPPuAiUmQpu6tr9l11422mwUbOZpyzoELVb55ioLcpKJlG_EcN34w7GvDbwRnpVhQfBpwQivsJ5UnkUBtH3YN_2N1k4kDU_P0FqibZifFiuX9l5oXw=s2832" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2832" data-original-width="2124" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjcrU3VQj2fpeitvWCJ031HepAhDRPWHrEhn7HQAc1WWLE0ycFZPU6D8cKSXQwq-12OMgb4hH0PNPPuAiUmQpu6tr9l11422mwUbOZpyzoELVb55ioLcpKJlG_EcN34w7GvDbwRnpVhQfBpwQivsJ5UnkUBtH3YN_2N1k4kDU_P0FqibZifFiuX9l5oXw=w480-h640" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgWAPArxZ70qSJny2KnBLRPIgJJVuLmfoe-y0GkzMZTMYTVQlK1-PxUoB29y8Dfqb8mxngxuedfxUTq_BCjftsoZznPM3L0gnXiV3_VNIOkBdCJiEzP52nYvm5wj-VgOM-5FZ22AotQiRu68VrN7vfVTX9dTOgnfoNEiPHbsN6_Hbd_GVk_UiUW5zSW1w=s2832" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2832" data-original-width="2124" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgWAPArxZ70qSJny2KnBLRPIgJJVuLmfoe-y0GkzMZTMYTVQlK1-PxUoB29y8Dfqb8mxngxuedfxUTq_BCjftsoZznPM3L0gnXiV3_VNIOkBdCJiEzP52nYvm5wj-VgOM-5FZ22AotQiRu68VrN7vfVTX9dTOgnfoNEiPHbsN6_Hbd_GVk_UiUW5zSW1w=w480-h640" width="480" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>You can read more about the backing fabric in the previous post.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhBydkaYfSlC8bhJvg-ybOqXT-SgCauMwuHPkDrNqwI4VkXAZOaI8HqJHrj0Sfm3Yjj67K0FD7uhFLpQuN5H16HNfRfnVHl4iOUXKZ2buD7Axd9OO99HNyHpC-S11fnvN2o1p1AVv3O4bN3pJOXC5S8UreNCr0JoAhhvRexFckddLBcTBgwrOySjuGJoA=s2820" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2820" data-original-width="1992" height="753" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhBydkaYfSlC8bhJvg-ybOqXT-SgCauMwuHPkDrNqwI4VkXAZOaI8HqJHrj0Sfm3Yjj67K0FD7uhFLpQuN5H16HNfRfnVHl4iOUXKZ2buD7Axd9OO99HNyHpC-S11fnvN2o1p1AVv3O4bN3pJOXC5S8UreNCr0JoAhhvRexFckddLBcTBgwrOySjuGJoA=w532-h753" width="532" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div>Breakout will be a constant reminder that improvisation can lead to surprising and satisfying results. I resorted to simple epp squares. My plan was to sew sixteenpatch blocks with a defined color palette and decide later what to do with them.</p><p>I had two bright orange prints I no longer liked and decided (why not?) to try using bleach to change the color. The result was a kind of apricot or salmon hue and I liked pairing them with brown/reddish ones.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbWgqNjN9EXR4-8MxviGmraHBJhMfdM_HVHFu_GNa3JmA3oPpcuU3YL6iTX12ck5ZY_4sfvaa9ueDVZtRitBz849ppQnWNprd-G8wUl4gfd5ZKlBEjiVQZ-dXxDgckKLdJ1A6b-Suba1Vi/s2048/20200831_164030.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; My client gave me a stack of worn clothes from family members of different generations. The idea was to make a memory quilt she wants to gift to her daughter as a wedding present. I was thrilled and honoured. I made her various proposals of design options and she chose a string quilt. </p><p>Long story short, what started out with this</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5CtwSC-2R4_i1s4TcerSCaliwAsSt5gJ3TwmHwA9zRj5yCE7nBhAUYmijo56BqJpj8JXNeddz0YNr8FUyalht_e1t8CbOTevyjgg1JiQn73zBoNDozOmK3Fpqipg4aW1oG87Wo5RiD7nh/s2048/20210213_134910.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj5CtwSC-2R4_i1s4TcerSCaliwAsSt5gJ3TwmHwA9zRj5yCE7nBhAUYmijo56BqJpj8JXNeddz0YNr8FUyalht_e1t8CbOTevyjgg1JiQn73zBoNDozOmK3Fpqipg4aW1oG87Wo5RiD7nh/w640-h480/20210213_134910.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">resulted into this</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSDn1CTXd09Lvt0KAwpOvV7TiQrRg5_WMrjyjswTabpmwlyBJkVCJBH9A92Do-FlJT8ao1usMuCETEBA48CSXbAaF02TC2ISesYdNFzdEK0eHHb-_b9QYwOYgUrmjuj3hOM7xZrVOLCT3D/s2048/20210414_115646+a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1665" height="687" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSDn1CTXd09Lvt0KAwpOvV7TiQrRg5_WMrjyjswTabpmwlyBJkVCJBH9A92Do-FlJT8ao1usMuCETEBA48CSXbAaF02TC2ISesYdNFzdEK0eHHb-_b9QYwOYgUrmjuj3hOM7xZrVOLCT3D/w558-h687/20210414_115646+a.jpeg" width="558" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAPyfrMVH3tCBTSrwauYBbZizV6O2q8t34Pk5DViAmNkwhluAjpnqVf8uqwXby5hkB3imrpIjg6s-kokca-bXCaEJxyI-egPZaR8Wn50uzv-bnWO0YjvxEHdl9XS0oGZZAdSG3GPtu6XF-/s2048/20210415_120431.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAPyfrMVH3tCBTSrwauYBbZizV6O2q8t34Pk5DViAmNkwhluAjpnqVf8uqwXby5hkB3imrpIjg6s-kokca-bXCaEJxyI-egPZaR8Wn50uzv-bnWO0YjvxEHdl9XS0oGZZAdSG3GPtu6XF-/w640-h480/20210415_120431.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-i9nrwkeWkXrmXpETPJ1k6BnJQ2YYEAwosLXuSY_WBfbyMxiXpWv7RbuNLSUSD82AdtXRE12lGp_HC0pgaLjIUmnH5eQh-cEj5IPE989gQHgeouNKTXnyzc1P1uqDO_eCv2x0a2oydQyD/s2048/20210415_121027.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-i9nrwkeWkXrmXpETPJ1k6BnJQ2YYEAwosLXuSY_WBfbyMxiXpWv7RbuNLSUSD82AdtXRE12lGp_HC0pgaLjIUmnH5eQh-cEj5IPE989gQHgeouNKTXnyzc1P1uqDO_eCv2x0a2oydQyD/w480-h640/20210415_121027.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtaokkUz0PolVhQEQAG1KcDbi_jxVmICjMwry45xtK83B0FuZqK6l1m3KQsGQ3b09YDG6o2m21mG_2SmF4q29rwR4ZSQyBYu0ggBOZAcPRtU5OSyseDG87iRpp2hrFZ3d7NpVGBUQYgsY5/s2048/20210415_121608+a.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtaokkUz0PolVhQEQAG1KcDbi_jxVmICjMwry45xtK83B0FuZqK6l1m3KQsGQ3b09YDG6o2m21mG_2SmF4q29rwR4ZSQyBYu0ggBOZAcPRtU5OSyseDG87iRpp2hrFZ3d7NpVGBUQYgsY5/w640-h480/20210415_121608+a.jpeg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>It measures 174 x 137 cm, turned out pretty soft and cuddly and I couldn't be happier with the result. My client just left with her new purchase and I'm so glad she really loved it. She loved my fabric additions and layout choices. And also was very pleased with the striped binding. This has been such a great new experience. Lots of first times. First time making a quilt on order, first time starting with fabrics given to me, first time no pre-washing the fabrics to achieve stronger fluffiness, first time adding false piping to the binding.</p><p>Here it is. Rose. 114 x 114 cm. It is my first commission and my client is the grandmother who ordered the quilt for herself for when baby comes to visit. She had visited my exhibit last September and got inspired to have her own custom made quilt. She went ahead and bought fabrics with darling baby prints and brought them to me. I was free to make whatever I wanted, using some or all of the fabrics, adding others, choosing the design. We only agreed on the approximate size of the finished quilt. It's been a fantastic challenge for me. At first I was a bit overwhelmed with her fabric choices. Mostly large prints, mostly same value colors. I had to invent a design that would showcase the lovely prints. This has been my first order and a different experience in quilt making. I've made many quilts to be gifted before, thinking of the recipient during the process of designing and making the quilt. This time, being it an order, there was an additional aspect to be considered. The pressure of making something, the client will happily pay for.</p><p>Long story short, here are pictures of the making of. I'll be back with the finished quilt later this week and at that time I'll also know how it's been received.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIcgmL0id_ilptqdd9pX_7W1DuT-ftOcTWC0yXr-HCvw8WQ_R9jGCJAFFwFuIDpZvNNcP8GDuy9w7s5WwPHS5f7B3cudjlUmuLFVKubBIAGInXQhWoXKgrRdzxe8_qkf7Lm0ZB1ruprwkp/s2048/20210113_133211.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; It's nice to end the year with completed work and make room for new beginnings.<div><br /></div><div>While Hugs And Kisses has been (and still is) my companion helping me process these pandemic times, Dark And Light aka A Home For All has been created while processing thoughts and feelings related to injustice, racism, violence, poverty, migration and flight. Themes unfortunately not just relevant to 2020 but more predominant than ever. Hopes that the world may become a better place battered once again. What or whom am I waiting for?</div><div><br /></div><div>Making this quilt has been a strange almost weird experience. The improvised log cabins were an easy, mindless, joyful sewing while the thinking and sometimes sheer incredulity about humankind were and still are heavy and exasperating.</div><div><br /></div><div>Dark and light for our different skin colors. What can I say, I'm in love! For so many reasons.</p><p>I started this quilt last December with certain expectations about what the next months were going to bring. We all know, that 2020 had a total different plan for us ahead. This quilt has been my companion during this often incomprehensible time giving me many occasions to calm down during the meditative hand sewing process. It is soaked with my feelings and thoughts, has become a devoted friend and done its name more than justice since the start. Aren't these colors just some hugs and kisses? I'm keeping this quilt to myself. It will continue to be kind to me.</p><p>Pieced (epp) and quilted by hand, measuring 160 x 125 cm.</p><p>A load of love to be wrapped into.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; And one whole year has gone by since I started to work on this quilt. It's only missing the label and it will be all done. December a year ago! With no clue what the new year was going to bring. So many plans changed or cancelled since. And during all this time the possibility to pick up this hand sewing project. To find some calm and tenderness, some peace of mind. I love all my quilts but this one is special. It's become a testimony of this strange 2020.</p><p>Here are some last process pictures. I've stitched the label and only need to sew it to the back. Then I hope to be able to take some pictures when these grey days get a bit better light.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5jCfmIK1ppprSf1AjG424mSRyikvDInOPW_FAzfk0CAbl9ZAVMSFfuCdCUiYo8iUg4PGQNTND6GELLhhXcTsG63Tla7nVVba8nlNgVQpsXUgFiZDXEPU6OC07wmr1ybGw_x3AfpGENrsC/s2048/20200819_143933.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5jCfmIK1ppprSf1AjG424mSRyikvDInOPW_FAzfk0CAbl9ZAVMSFfuCdCUiYo8iUg4PGQNTND6GELLhhXcTsG63Tla7nVVba8nlNgVQpsXUgFiZDXEPU6OC07wmr1ybGw_x3AfpGENrsC/w640-h480/20200819_143933.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHxXF67u5v1BOdi9l2lpkZVgXAHwBekW67LXP4xONAobp0WO0x3Fo4xmskAPYanoiFQdKWEbq40ohewByN59T_BW-JlGPs6KZWALS8LiNAt42MgqLoLrs7PimwsDJczt6iP4vJ-bh9iylh/s2048/20201029_153516.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHxXF67u5v1BOdi9l2lpkZVgXAHwBekW67LXP4xONAobp0WO0x3Fo4xmskAPYanoiFQdKWEbq40ohewByN59T_BW-JlGPs6KZWALS8LiNAt42MgqLoLrs7PimwsDJczt6iP4vJ-bh9iylh/w640-h480/20201029_153516.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFv5P2EsjYVK46ZDCNlRlD3uElXPGN1r9l1MPtRP4KlDCeea4Cj5VbtppwMYCJ2r-7iefBe3k3fhch8T0rzbFXRWapuaZow7ttSg3RJsFolzT_VNHKHj_riklSpLfOBhiNtMPI2dBvXxFz/s2048/20201120_114333.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFv5P2EsjYVK46ZDCNlRlD3uElXPGN1r9l1MPtRP4KlDCeea4Cj5VbtppwMYCJ2r-7iefBe3k3fhch8T0rzbFXRWapuaZow7ttSg3RJsFolzT_VNHKHj_riklSpLfOBhiNtMPI2dBvXxFz/w640-h480/20201120_114333.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizvFUx4AnBNyVuswUUew5HYOc6bjRbGc7Dx2y6XoHbMrtszGaeBggp8IOAj250-ExSPJhUJ5Wytvyh0q8_oxJBeU1OJaz1nfZdjpNYCDsmdc1jvj7G6RjCzTd9rosFZ6Zbpe0X0xFp4gRK/s2048/20201122_133110.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizvFUx4AnBNyVuswUUew5HYOc6bjRbGc7Dx2y6XoHbMrtszGaeBggp8IOAj250-ExSPJhUJ5Wytvyh0q8_oxJBeU1OJaz1nfZdjpNYCDsmdc1jvj7G6RjCzTd9rosFZ6Zbpe0X0xFp4gRK/w640-h480/20201122_133110.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1zDq-LnhcFcZg9sKvjpE8nHnIaKZigzd4HaEI7vcN4YXcKqwuUbaqMeDfkewOTlA4bS3POgwAzHUDyn58MAAkKvxqJD2KTEi8RgwiKU6rqOBoGGmvt3gMPO68SRnmBsfGVt6RnqjkOEuH/s2048/20201127_134517.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1zDq-LnhcFcZg9sKvjpE8nHnIaKZigzd4HaEI7vcN4YXcKqwuUbaqMeDfkewOTlA4bS3POgwAzHUDyn58MAAkKvxqJD2KTEi8RgwiKU6rqOBoGGmvt3gMPO68SRnmBsfGVt6RnqjkOEuH/w480-h640/20201127_134517.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi80Ez7NgMRiX0QaTfvRcMzNF_dflKDgLeRNW_2T775LReHSIjvJDqCiVUe3joNUaEXtdb8wGYNlZdjtKkroc-CjlX1JA8VdDRCBF76fcqwfxYNogi896w6ZsAZCF421pEEgNOfKeFb6vO1/s2048/20201206_230232.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi80Ez7NgMRiX0QaTfvRcMzNF_dflKDgLeRNW_2T775LReHSIjvJDqCiVUe3joNUaEXtdb8wGYNlZdjtKkroc-CjlX1JA8VdDRCBF76fcqwfxYNogi896w6ZsAZCF421pEEgNOfKeFb6vO1/w480-h640/20201206_230232.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><div><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>Pasqualina this & thathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07345456841233557955noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4734213052457691083.post-89078642828480915762020-12-01T10:20:00.000+01:002020-12-01T10:20:12.194+01:00Dark And Light aka A Home For All // 3<p>Spent the last week working on this quilt and I'm almost done quilting it. Had a bit a hard time deciding on the quilting pattern and finally chose to echo quilt the log cabins and add straight lines to the top and bottom part. Will probably add some hand quilting touches to the fire places in the cabins.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLe97OsFkLry6c9jik5xbZeurIiU3IfP5Z-Q4DFcFmkAv1g1lpmZYViEA-68JB364qJUbYOf08Pow3LhTFnihi0aZ8Z6mcepdR1f4xqu-HTkdEbFigynVVxOXPs46e3uvk2AqWOc6xysQ8/s2048/20201119_163932.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLe97OsFkLry6c9jik5xbZeurIiU3IfP5Z-Q4DFcFmkAv1g1lpmZYViEA-68JB364qJUbYOf08Pow3LhTFnihi0aZ8Z6mcepdR1f4xqu-HTkdEbFigynVVxOXPs46e3uvk2AqWOc6xysQ8/w480-h640/20201119_163932.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6z7Wg173DHxInH7QT-QDIJd-LDTSgIYXVO1cDJmJz_O7ToDzUAcOG4-mqhfnjY49Pn4AD1Ty0BUEpcQUW7R-RKdWMTNiOHaAWi2xZvv_kIZ59p3GkNQKThreRshpSvW_BIdlb-6otUzrD/s2048/20201119_164200.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6z7Wg173DHxInH7QT-QDIJd-LDTSgIYXVO1cDJmJz_O7ToDzUAcOG4-mqhfnjY49Pn4AD1Ty0BUEpcQUW7R-RKdWMTNiOHaAWi2xZvv_kIZ59p3GkNQKThreRshpSvW_BIdlb-6otUzrD/w480-h640/20201119_164200.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAyVJBXj2npkMc09HZGO1TW15UmFLULBrnzHOZtCwTskgn8Eaz77GMTl2EWx4CuBtm8lR40oXx95E-V3U6cj_MSTpJCIiRVT3IaYuXRgi8rT5bU7nm89vt7-hO7iqQt0OMW5J2ZZk133xP/s2048/20201124_134102.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAyVJBXj2npkMc09HZGO1TW15UmFLULBrnzHOZtCwTskgn8Eaz77GMTl2EWx4CuBtm8lR40oXx95E-V3U6cj_MSTpJCIiRVT3IaYuXRgi8rT5bU7nm89vt7-hO7iqQt0OMW5J2ZZk133xP/w480-h640/20201124_134102.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Pasqualina this & thathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07345456841233557955noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4734213052457691083.post-62746966812197502602020-11-24T10:32:00.004+01:002020-11-24T10:35:59.047+01:00Luca // 4 and last !<p>Luca is all done and on its way to its recipient. Fingers crossed it will get there safe and sound. It is always special to design a quilt for somebody specific. Thinking what kind of colors or prints may be liked. What size it should have to be useful and how to quilt it to make it snuggly. During the hours of sewing I think of the person it is destined for and memories of shared moments come to mind. This quilt is going to a nephew living far away. I held him on my arms as a baby and now that he is a grown up man he can wrap himself up in this quilt and maybe feel some of the love that I put into it.</p><p>This has been my 7th disappearing nine patch variation and I'm quite happy with the result. This process is a lot of fun but also a difficult one as there are always so many different options making it hard to pick one. Some are obvious drop outs, others it's harder to part with. Then there are lots of minor changes to consider. The more time I have the more time I take with making a decision. Which again can be good or bad as sometimes there just isn't right or wrong and I can get lost in details. Anyways, I'm glad I've meanwhile found my preferred one.</p><p>The ones I'm sharing today are all rejected ones.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-xny5n2XxW8y7c1RpEFHhCg_TvF_hBADDupjChPWM7dT-BwL7OHCt1VzrFcSeUhegwrcl3_ryFfEO2K-D9HzwHP0FOEZB7KuGWFRXXloUc5hgQ6II_bPThXqxYamSpAmPU_FAy2L6b-mH/s2048/20201021_103238.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; As we all know this year 2020 is a strange one and many plans and intentions had to be adjusted or postponed. Nevertheless, I'm happy I've finally gotten to it. It's going to be a gift for a young man and I'm very excited about my fabric choices. I have the feeling he is going to love it. At least, it's what I'm hoping for. Since I don't expect him to read my blog or checking in on my Instagram feed I feel safe to sharing some work in progress pictures.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjitfjxxfJnZ74InuiynumDkKCEry-Xq7dm0zUPqOdOr2946rbX3vhfacq1kdLoVJivPM4c7eK7uBeYxpD7LNLNyZM920rrPik1DAKS9_DknUGHJciaXH1gLgSiC5OUpIFkdgAHfSRri6R3/s2048/20201013_150213.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="578" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjitfjxxfJnZ74InuiynumDkKCEry-Xq7dm0zUPqOdOr2946rbX3vhfacq1kdLoVJivPM4c7eK7uBeYxpD7LNLNyZM920rrPik1DAKS9_DknUGHJciaXH1gLgSiC5OUpIFkdgAHfSRri6R3/w433-h578/20201013_150213.jpg" width="433" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI1ubIbWUEWBrJYJtE8DKeoKwYeTZtw-GVVc4BFI53CKH1iGYsIGCwddHge8hHJT9Xp7geH9aUEKWN05Hbo8LRxgBQDpTuGSdWyd53CJupXlfnJmnnXP5ARPCS01B7pK4P5rZ5jS02wvvD/s2048/20201014_141916.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgI1ubIbWUEWBrJYJtE8DKeoKwYeTZtw-GVVc4BFI53CKH1iGYsIGCwddHge8hHJT9Xp7geH9aUEKWN05Hbo8LRxgBQDpTuGSdWyd53CJupXlfnJmnnXP5ARPCS01B7pK4P5rZ5jS02wvvD/w640-h480/20201014_141916.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3ulkHVXHGuML3Q0UBJoQ-lhPjocfXtC8E-oWHks_ndQZZ1Dg5vmxmrK5hV7E53FnJcEukOxgU4XfcbqLAu0ujRScYii5F91SFTqwJ-SqIx6Ea9M5Kp_izDfEv509HhqHNn-NHkCWoVzsS/s2048/20201015_134541.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3ulkHVXHGuML3Q0UBJoQ-lhPjocfXtC8E-oWHks_ndQZZ1Dg5vmxmrK5hV7E53FnJcEukOxgU4XfcbqLAu0ujRScYii5F91SFTqwJ-SqIx6Ea9M5Kp_izDfEv509HhqHNn-NHkCWoVzsS/w480-h640/20201015_134541.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvUT_8fSPkzl0rJzBrZVEjqlGmYRy_1_x8ZRWfUGoSv60peV1URBHjXSEQQNtGt4dNp2X1-hFKEqEC3anOWL6tc1dcqVvWzYEh6xoM33LSL7voYkOCg4dzJDbSehWNi7DFqsocyG0hUGge/s2048/20201015_134834.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvUT_8fSPkzl0rJzBrZVEjqlGmYRy_1_x8ZRWfUGoSv60peV1URBHjXSEQQNtGt4dNp2X1-hFKEqEC3anOWL6tc1dcqVvWzYEh6xoM33LSL7voYkOCg4dzJDbSehWNi7DFqsocyG0hUGge/w480-h640/20201015_134834.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnjlaK9Qcs_JqM3JBzg6EY42ACj9DS8iUq0aJHHsMTRs2VZ2FY-eXxpEsTRYWf-6IijBJPOpQuCkEiE-eYPepXONp4z_929DJDWCyg8pRaNu44Fklg9qkxmAt7fl3jqjNB9HbStTgr-NBo/s2048/20201019_154359.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnjlaK9Qcs_JqM3JBzg6EY42ACj9DS8iUq0aJHHsMTRs2VZ2FY-eXxpEsTRYWf-6IijBJPOpQuCkEiE-eYPepXONp4z_929DJDWCyg8pRaNu44Fklg9qkxmAt7fl3jqjNB9HbStTgr-NBo/w640-h480/20201019_154359.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVI8wDSCACn69xQEE_KJRzbpAWb_Xz9ecF7TtIUSfK0yP72_qHp2LQtjy8I2okcnzFACVs4MjKN5SJU5KhkDN3Fsj7GnAF3tmSuqX-MmncTuEgmG0L6N-lA_4i27OXZEwojBlZm8iRw6c9/s2048/20201020_115739.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVI8wDSCACn69xQEE_KJRzbpAWb_Xz9ecF7TtIUSfK0yP72_qHp2LQtjy8I2okcnzFACVs4MjKN5SJU5KhkDN3Fsj7GnAF3tmSuqX-MmncTuEgmG0L6N-lA_4i27OXZEwojBlZm8iRw6c9/w640-h480/20201020_115739.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>All the ninepatches are sewn and cut into their four quarters. The good thing is that I know where it is going to live and I will still be able to see it from time to time.</p><p>I made <a href="http://pasqualinathisandthat.blogspot.com/2012/10/floating-colors-gleitende-farben-colori.html" target="_blank">Floating Colors</a> back in 2012 and I combined cotton and silk fabrics. I chose a very simple patchwork to give the silk patches enough room to shine. Spread out it shows all the different colors, folded on a couch one can choose which colors to show and by arranging it differently bring variation to the room. It is free motion quilted with a rather large scale design that brings a lot of life and structure into the calm background. </p><p>It got a lot of attention during the exhibit and several people showed interest. It seems that its calmness and elegance is much liked these days.</p><p>To celebrate its parting here some last pictures in all its glory.</p><p>These were taken during my exhibit:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; While I'm happy that they found a new home that will love and value them I'm at the same time learning what it means to say goodbye to a work that means a lot to me and that even it has been stored for a while out of sight it is still close to my heart. I guess it's the nature of things. I made quilts thinking that in the end they may be a benefit to somebody. But now that they are chosen out of an exhibit it is totally different than the ones I made from the beginning as a gift for someone special for a special occasion. As odd as it is I'm happy and sad at the same time. Yet, more happy than sad.</p><p>Here I'm wrapping up <a href="http://pasqualinathisandthat.blogspot.com/2014/11/t1-5-and-last.html">T1</a>. A small quilt finished 2014 and that was kind of a prototype for <a href="http://pasqualinathisandthat.blogspot.com/2014/12/t2-6-and-last.html">T2</a> and <a href="http://pasqualinathisandthat.blogspot.com/2015/02/t3-8-and-last.html" target="_blank">T3</a>. T stands for triangle as the design is based on half square triangles. This is one of the rare if not the only time I made up a design with the help of my computer. Normally, I just work on the design wall or follow a rough sketch. But here everything was laid out from the start. This is also the only quilt I've made so far that is clearly meant as wall hanging as with its 100 cm square it's too small for anything else. I love to make quilts to wrap oneself into them, so they at least need to be lap size. But this is the one that was purchased first. Maybe because the cost is lower due to its size, maybe because as so many said, it is easier to have them on the wall than to use them since they are so precious. There is a lot to think about for me. I'm not sure I want to make quilts that sell well. I want to make quilts that can be both, art and utility.</p><p>For T1 it looks as if it has found the perfect new owner. He definitely loves the colors.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizRgYxf30NO_TVIJqAlZ6paI1hRPjG0uUktoC2BpJKF2eoFM3iQkFM8PQqTdFS860Hus2nPC8pS7x5OGMuTz_PpGILi6BC5dgRG3rAd-E0YvXqNcTAgNRUQ7t2TL1R3jFU5D3P5YrTJQZU/s2048/20200930_151006.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizRgYxf30NO_TVIJqAlZ6paI1hRPjG0uUktoC2BpJKF2eoFM3iQkFM8PQqTdFS860Hus2nPC8pS7x5OGMuTz_PpGILi6BC5dgRG3rAd-E0YvXqNcTAgNRUQ7t2TL1R3jFU5D3P5YrTJQZU/w480-h640/20200930_151006.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXsjgE9KFK90Fx8NHUCkYSqNP69LvDxlQWSv25F6mZW5pd_KG73qJoln9mN-pMGm7MdCJM_eTGOhRlQ5WGSQPKdnmbzrXBncwrQfLhms-ibjpwZrfl1MPfB7OPJglll4hAdhjMET4vwU4B/s2048/20200930_154605.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXsjgE9KFK90Fx8NHUCkYSqNP69LvDxlQWSv25F6mZW5pd_KG73qJoln9mN-pMGm7MdCJM_eTGOhRlQ5WGSQPKdnmbzrXBncwrQfLhms-ibjpwZrfl1MPfB7OPJglll4hAdhjMET4vwU4B/w480-h640/20200930_154605.jpg" width="480" /></a></div><br /><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPJy69vuLbcllvaKAvVwTNxp7NG1vD_w1IOWQmAfLDvidtTpaYDGeTtnkwn4boeptDMqTQRyQUv58DMjCIrJ7rHPEpHG3LgG0kMApOzGpFcOJr_aiUv-B1gxqels2lf9hLJY5Sn_bnT3-W/s5472/IMG_0923.JPG" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="5472" data-original-width="3648" height="714" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPJy69vuLbcllvaKAvVwTNxp7NG1vD_w1IOWQmAfLDvidtTpaYDGeTtnkwn4boeptDMqTQRyQUv58DMjCIrJ7rHPEpHG3LgG0kMApOzGpFcOJr_aiUv-B1gxqels2lf9hLJY5Sn_bnT3-W/w475-h714/IMG_0923.JPG" width="475" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">published with permission<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Pasqualina this & thathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07345456841233557955noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4734213052457691083.post-1271890185256175022020-09-24T10:43:00.004+02:002020-09-24T10:43:52.210+02:00Exhibit is over<p>My exhibit is over. What a week this has been! I have a lot to process and digest but I can say that it has been worth the effort. I'm grateful I was able to make it happen this time and everything went smooth and fine. Visitors enjoyed a moment of relax from all the noise and worries in the world and took the necessary precautions in view of the still ongoing pandemic among us.</p><p>I received so much positive feedback for the show and so much appreciation for my work that me too could take in this week at its fullest and at its best. It's also been fantastic for me to see so much of my work of the last decade all at once. </p><p>If you want to see more of it you can do so by going to my <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ergo_ago_pasqualina/?ref=badge" target="_blank">instagram page</a>. There you'll also find a virtual tour saved in the story highlights. Also videos where I talk about each individual quilt. All of it without my face everywhere.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEoZ6Rd-Yw5KwxLJAD5Cvuw7SB_bhUPboPilycPiq08XXKCRME05yWCO-PbVSrqO-joPARGpjFbmzf9b-nS0NxiH5wF8BYNebXsXgc_gBZSeMApRBc444cfHnNAC0Xn5ybXY_OES0D7wH1/s2048/IMG_0871.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1366" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEoZ6Rd-Yw5KwxLJAD5Cvuw7SB_bhUPboPilycPiq08XXKCRME05yWCO-PbVSrqO-joPARGpjFbmzf9b-nS0NxiH5wF8BYNebXsXgc_gBZSeMApRBc444cfHnNAC0Xn5ybXY_OES0D7wH1/w426-h640/IMG_0871.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpV5Gk4eSqFr3ABPaPRfCVyQKkM0zRNWghoLgc0ArApzuYQGb6axw1P2GaVT2I08kV1IwVrJutK6iEqQDd7gvfgC0BjuMs1_nv8mVA4fKURk1y9d_QIDHZu1Z-WdmCOK1POgAOXzVcpzWA/s2048/IMG_0949.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1366" height="589" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpV5Gk4eSqFr3ABPaPRfCVyQKkM0zRNWghoLgc0ArApzuYQGb6axw1P2GaVT2I08kV1IwVrJutK6iEqQDd7gvfgC0BjuMs1_nv8mVA4fKURk1y9d_QIDHZu1Z-WdmCOK1POgAOXzVcpzWA/w428-h589/IMG_0949.JPG" width="428" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz1TzO-7u0fVUfQXJFIMbElTRHNAI6ahN5GJc-kEgH3z94EeyGW7uNVlNMrD4LKGV-RK0eeL-gfUB0iDgV7Id4uOtWMaEQXsksctcVSTWJvBfMy8E1wGH_lItOQdWeIAggO1QWNvk0dyHP/s2048/IMG_1004.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1366" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz1TzO-7u0fVUfQXJFIMbElTRHNAI6ahN5GJc-kEgH3z94EeyGW7uNVlNMrD4LKGV-RK0eeL-gfUB0iDgV7Id4uOtWMaEQXsksctcVSTWJvBfMy8E1wGH_lItOQdWeIAggO1QWNvk0dyHP/w426-h640/IMG_1004.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2WtqQlt0HEWFHBtTHGOTpHrWB0ChjwQGWn0haxbUcd8RRTfbser7TNYVM1QcE_GhpXQ2ldI4JUMPfNBK4dWNcQ5PGZDOoX2slXziMxE91DlLUmyd4lpSCnQc-73JaiNSTtMB_fGDozJdQ/s2048/IMG_1092.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1366" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2WtqQlt0HEWFHBtTHGOTpHrWB0ChjwQGWn0haxbUcd8RRTfbser7TNYVM1QcE_GhpXQ2ldI4JUMPfNBK4dWNcQ5PGZDOoX2slXziMxE91DlLUmyd4lpSCnQc-73JaiNSTtMB_fGDozJdQ/w426-h640/IMG_1092.JPG" width="426" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><span> </span><span> <span> </span><span> </span><span> </span><span> </span><span> </span><span> </span><span> </span></span><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="502" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7j4S5o8mrnQVcqNQVtjIVXA_sOuQk2YkgVZIbim9W1fEFpL9pRo0Da23UqEYMVzd_SAMRrODlmTI7NokbYmgPV1-lGuqS85WHr66ZyL-iDRQk7UGdb_Da4wLM9XXLqyX4tJj6TRsW68tg/w375-h502/IMG-20200915-WA0008.jpg" width="375" /><br /><p><br /></p><p>Thank you to my husband and a friend for these pictures.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Pasqualina this & thathttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07345456841233557955noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4734213052457691083.post-39326674244985581332020-09-17T09:15:00.002+02:002020-09-17T09:15:16.511+02:00Exhibit in full swing<p>My exhibit is up and running. While I've enjoyed the sewing process and had fun scavenging my scrap boxes I've also been thinking about what is going on in the world. So much social injustice, so much undeserved luck for some, so much bad luck and much worse for others. And so while sewing and looking at my fabrics I've been thinking of Blacks and Whites, of dark and light, an how we all want to be happy and feel at home. I've been dreaming of a world we'll probably never have and yet we must not give up wanting. These thoughts have been infused in this top while I was trying to combine dark and light fabrics in a way to bring clarity, harmony, intermingling, equilibrium.
