This is how I do it. I cut the fabrics into pieces of two inch long and 1.5 to 2 inch wide, depending on the thickness of the fabric. I fold the pieces. I put the hand holding one folded fabric scrap under the burlap and with the plier in the other hand I pull on end first through one hole (same as where the previous fabric scrap was) and then the other end just through the next one. I then grab both ends with the plier and pull them strong in place. I hope this is clear enough. Leave me a comment if you need more explanations.

So mache ich es: Ich schneide den Stoff in Stücken von 2.5 cm Länge und ca. 2 - 2.5 cm Breite, je nach Dicke des Stoffes. Ich falte die Stücke in Streifen. Die Hand, die das Stoffstück hält geht unter den Stramin, die andere hält die Zange und zieht das eine Ende des Stoffstücks zuerst durch ein Loch und das andere Ende gleich durch das daneben liegende. Dann packe ich beide Enden gleichzeitig und ziehe fest daran. Ich hoffe, dies ist einigermassen verständlich. Schreibt ein Kommentar, wenn ihr mehr wissen wollt.
Das dritte Foto zeigt, wie das Ganze auf der Rückseite ausschaut.

Io faccio così: Taglio la stoffa in pezzetti di 2.5 cm di lunghezza e 2 a 2.5 cm di larghezza, dipendente dallo spessore della stoffa. Piego i pezzi. La mano tenendo un pezzo di stoffa va di sotto. Con la pinzetta nell'altra mano ne afferro una estremità e la tiro tra un buco, poi afferro l'altra estremità e la tiro tra il buco accanto. Poi afferro le due estremità allo stesso tempo e le tiro forte in posto. Spero di essermi spiegata. Altrimenti lasciatemi un messaggio.

I've started a new project. Those of you who paid attention know that by now I'm working on three projects simultaneously. Life doesn't get boring around here.
It's been a while that I wanted to try hooking to make rag rugs. I've had a hard time finding the right tools. The hooks were all too small for the recycled t-shirts and night gowns I want to use. Finally I decided to give it a go with some small pliers. My inspiration wall delivered the design idea. To be continued.

Ich habe eine neue Arbeit begonnen. Die Ideen gehen mir nicht aus. Seit längerem wollte ich aus alten T-Shirts und Baumwoll-Nachthemden einen Teppich "knüpfen". Das nötige Material zu beschaffen war nicht einfach. Die Knüpfhaken, die ich finden konnte waren alle zu klein. Dann habe ich mich entschieden, es mit ein paar kleinen Zangen zu versuchen. Das Motiv habe ich von meiner Inspirationswand genommen. Fortsetzung folgt.

Ho incominciato un nuovo progetto. Sarebbe il terzo lavoro in corso. Mica m'annoio io. Voglio fare un tappetino tessuto usando magliette riciclate. Non sono riuscita a trovare un uncinetto adeguato o un'ago d'aggancio apposito. Dunque ho deciso di tentare con delle piccole pinze. L'idea per il disegno l'ho presa dalla mia parete d'ispirazione.
