Scraps III // 6
The top is completed and I'm happy with how it turned out. It will take a while for the back and the quilting since I have some secret sewing to do in the meantime.

Tropical
I finally managed to take some pictures of my most recent finished paintings. You know, the ones I do in a weekly public class at the local school of design. As usual at the beginning of the semester the teacher sets a theme as a source of inspiration that we can freely interpret as we like. This time the theme was tropical plants. In addition we got the task to work with self made templates. I drew freehand some forms that reminded me of leaves and other parts of plants on plastic sheets, cut them out and used them as templates for working with a paint roller.
This has been a great assignment we all had a lot of fun working at. Too bad I can only show what I did. It's always such a surprise to see what different people come up with starting from the same few parameters.
These are mines. All acrylic on paper and about 62 x 43 cm.

Scraps III // 5
All the blocks are sewn and I settled on the final layout. Next to trim the blocks where necessary and sew them all together. It's the first time I'll be joining blocks on point so we'll see how that goes!
sorry for the poor light, the weather isn't helping

Scraps III // 4
I've decided that I'll be arranging these blocks on point leaving some "empty" space in between. I'm playing around with layout options. As usual there are so many possibilities for basic layout and then some more for single block placement that this is going to keep my brain busy for some time.
I don't like following patterns and enjoy developing my own designs but sometimes I wish my decisions would come easier to me.

Diamond // 13
Hand stitching this top is a slow but satisfying process and takes time since I only stitch a couple hours during the evenings. Nevertheless I've reached three quarters of the way.
I still have no idea what I'll do for the back and how I'm going to quilt it.
