Foulard I // 4 and last !

And voilĂ ! The completed Foulard I. Quilted with horizontal straight lines in the light center and framed by straight lines in the dark border. This has been such fun to make.
Vintage linens and other recycled cloths brought to new life.
See here for how it all started including the inspiration source.

Diamond // 20 and last !!!

It's done! I've completed Diamond! I am absolutely in love with this quilt. It started in June 2015 with just the idea of doing diamond shaped english paper piecing with lots of warm and rich colors. It grew slowly step by step. On my design wall and on the ground. I remember September of last year. I spent two days on the floor trying to decide about the layout of the diamond blocks. I'm so glad I took the time. I'm totally comfortable with my choice and never felt I should have done differently.
It also felt very natural to hand quilt it. The fact that it would take its time only added to my pleasure to spend more time with it. It's also the first time I used the overhanging backing fabric to bind it. Another decision I'm very happy with.
Diamond is my 29th quilt completed so far. I can't really say why but it is very dear to me. Probably because I feel I created it very carefully, giving and taking all the time it needed. No rush, no impatience. Just letting it grow and mature. Also leaving it alone for a while and work on other projects instead if I felt I needed more time to think it over. Now that it's done I'm not almost sad it's over as with earlier works. I feel joy and happiness and a deep sense of accomplishment.

If you are interested in the process be sure to check the links at the end of this post.
